The entire process begins in making a simple choice of doing things the easy way or doing things the hard but effective way. Helping get rid of mice can be a simple type of work to do but it’s a different issue when you’re the one chasing over the mice in the walls and all over the house. And for those brave people who chooses to work like mice exterminators in eliminating mice issues at home, here are some things you should know that professionals would probably be doing.

Close All Entry Points

Preventing a mice from entering your home is one of the most effective ways that you can do in order to start sealing off your home from these irritating pests. Start the process by sealing off any potential entry points and access pathways in order to prevent the mice from populating even more in your house. Now don’t get us wrong, this might sound like a simple process but you have to be tedious about this as mice can go through the tiniest holes you can imagine.

A standard size as to which a mice could be able to enter into is if you can fit a pencil into a hole or a crack – then it definitely means that they can go through it. Seal the cracks on the walls and edges of your home through steel wool. This works great as the mice cannot chew in the material plus it irritates their teeth so it comes off as a repellant as well. Avoid using plastic, rubber or wood materials to seal holes as the mice can easily chew off these things.

Use Effective Mouse Traps

One of the best ways to deal with a mice infestation is through the use of mouse traps. You may use classic wooden snap traps for this method. But you have to remember not to underestimate mice infestation in homes. It’s actually common to have to set up a dozen of traps just to capture a specific mouse. They are wise and so they might be able to determine traps and baits from normal scattered food. Use a lot. There’s no harm in doing this – it just gives you a greater chance in capturing the mice. Another thing that you have to remember though when setting up mouse traps is to use food bait that gives off strong smell like chocolate, bacon, oatmeal, peanut butter or hazelnut spread.
