If you think that you have a cockroach problem going on in your home, then you’re probably thinking of how you can get rid of them yourself and not have to have to call a pest exterminator for cockroaches until absolutely necessary. Well, we’ve got your covered! As it turns out, there are a lot of ways you can deal with a cockroach infestation by yourself. We’re here to talk you through exactly how to!

Exterminate Cockroaches Fast!

The first thing that you need to get a hold of to get rid of cockroaches is borax. Yes, ever since the year 1948, Borax has been officially determined to be one of the most basic ingredient for insecticides. Although, it can somehow be a threat to humans and animals, but it is definitely effective in getting rid of unwanted pests in houses. You can easily be able to buy this in your local grocery store, and not only that it is very accessible but it is also cheap and very much effective. Now before you get overwhelmed with how you’re gonna use this substance as a tool for getting rid of pests in your home, remember that there are two ways in which you can use borax in getting rid of cockroaches in your home.

The first form you can use it through is by simply applying it on your house surfaces as a powder. Apply the borax around different parts of your home both inside and outside. Over and beneath the furniture and specifically in cornered areas and spots where cockroaches usually hide in. Put it also on holes and cracks on the walls so it can further prohibit the entry of roaches. Make sure though that the product doesn’t clump. Simply dust in or brush off the powder so it comes on like a light coating. You can use a paintbrush to achieve this type of application. Another form you can use borax with is by creating a paste. For this, all you have to do is mix in equal measurements of borax powder, sugar and water. And then when you’ve mixed the substances together enough like a paste like texture, you can proceed to creating tiny balls with these. Tiny enough for the roaches to be able to eat it.

Apparently, roaches are not able to identify the difference between sugar and boric powder so this is what makes this method very effective. When the cockroaches eat the balls, the borax powder in it will then dehydrate the cockroach leaving them to die. The cockroaches will also trace back the powder into their nests with the other roaches which can be a reason for the other roaches to die especially the little ones. Repeat this process thoroughly and you should be able to see significant changes after just two weeks. While there are a lot of cockroach repellant methods which you can do at home by yourself, it still pays to have things done by a professional simply to have a more thorough result.
