December 5, 2018

We all know that one of the most intelligent creatures that are in this planet are spiders. While most of their kind seem to be harmless, they are still a threat and that means that they needs to be eliminated from homes. One good reason for this probably is because you do not benefit from them, but they benefit from you – well from your house at least.

All-Natural Spider Control Methods

So how do you get rid of them? There may be a lot of powerful chemicals that are sold in the market specifically designed to eradicate spiders. But by using these, you are not only putting the spiders to in harm’s way but you’re also putting yourself and the environment along with it as well. Which is why we have listed for you some ways you can resort to when getting rid of spiders naturally.

Orange Peels

Spiders have a very low tolerance for citrus scents and tangy smells which is why orange peels are a great way to keep those spiders away. You can actually use peels of any citrus fruits such as lemon, grapefruit and the like. But oranges are the easiest to use and get a hold of. Simply peel off your orange and then place chunks of the skin on a pot and leave it to boil. After the boiled mixture has cooled off, simply put it in a spray bottle container and then use it to spray to different parts of your home. Apply and spray on those areas where there are usually spider activity.

Mint Essential Oil

Yes, you read that right. Apparently, peppermint oil works as a great repellant for spiders. Those little creatures hate the smell of mint leaves even if humans tend to be so drawn to it. Which is why mint oil works as a great repellant not only for spiders but for other insects as well. All you have to do is dab some mint oil to cotton balls and then place the soaked cotton balls on the areas in your house where there’s usually spiders. Chances are all larvae of those spiders get killed within 24 hours after being exposed to the oil.

White Vinegar

As surprising as it may be, you may use white vinegar to repel spiders. These little creatures are not attracted much to this substance because of the acetic acid content it has. In order to use this item to repel the spiders in your home, simply combine it with water in equal measurements and then place it on a spray bottle. Mix and then spray directly on spider webs and the spiders itself in order to irritate them. They will surely be fleeing away if you’re gonna use this on them.
